I'm not a big Alex Smith guy. I only think they brought him back for this season because he was working with the WRs and RBs during the lockout. I think they would have been better off bringing in a guy like Matt Hasselbeck or even Vince Young to start in 2011. I say enough excuses for Alex Smith .A good QB makes a good team..aka Broncos with Elway..Dolphins with Marino...2 not so great teams carried by thier great QB's .A great team makes for a palletable QB...a great QB will carry a team to the playoffs. Look at Barry Sanders , a Hall of Famer on one of the worst teams in recent NFL history .Detroit stunk at almost every position yet Sanders went to HOF .It's not the team or coaches or enviroment or playbook or any other excuse...IT IS THE PLAYER , PERIOD ! And you are either a great one , an okay one or not gonna be one for long.
