The 49ers were sleepwalking through the first three quarters of this game before exploding for 18 points in the 4th quarter to put this game away.  Shaun Hill did not look sharp completing 3 of 7 passes for just 20 yards.  But, Alex Smith was awful completing only 3 of 9 passes for 30 yards with 1 interception.  Rookie Nate Davis finished up the game in impressive fashion completing 6 of 11 passes for 67 yards with 1 TD pass.  Rookie RB Glen Coffee stole the show in this game for the Niners with 129 yards rushing on 16 carries (8.1 ypc).  Michael Robinson was also electric in this game with 97 yards rushing on 14 carries (6.9 ypc).  Undrafted rookie Kory Sheets continued to impress with 51 yards on 12 carries (4.3 ypc) with 1 TD carry.  WR Jason Hill (3 rec, 31 yards) and TE Delanie Walker (2 rec, 28 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Niners.  The 49ers finished up with 389 total yards on offense (275 rushing, 114 passing) and they hogged the ball for 38:44 of this game.

Linebacker Scott McKillop led a good effort by the Niners’ defense with 5 tackles.  The Raiders only finished with 245 total yards on offense (69 rushing, 176 passing) in this game as the defense played well.

The 49ers just played barely well enough to win this game last Friday Night.  Shaun Hill made a brief appearance completing both of his two pass attemtps for 41 yards.  Alex Smith followed Hill in the game and he was efficient completing 5 of 7 passes for 33 yards with a TD pass.  Damon Huard finished up the game and he was outstanding completing 7 of 9 passes for 98 yards with 1 TD pass.  Rookie RBs Glen Coffee (14 car, 67 yards, 4.8 ypc) and Kory Sheets (10 car, 51 yards, 5.1 ypc) led the way in the running game for the Niners in this game.  Fullback Brit Miller was the real star though as he caught 2 passes for 43 yards (21.5 avg) and they both went for TDs!

The Broncos played well in the first half of this game picking off Broncos’ QB Kyle Orton three times.  But, the Broncos rolled up 341 total yards of offense in this game.  Linebacker Scott McKillop led the way for the Niners in this game with 9 tackles.  This was a good start for the Niners who will try to build momentum before the regular season begins.

The 49ers did not look good last Friday Night as they shouldn’t have even been as close as they were in this football game.  They can thank Delanie Walker for keeping the Niners in striking distance as he returned a kickoff 101 yards for a TD in this game.  Alex Smith looked lost as usual as he completed 12 of 17 passes for 146 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 interceptions.  Shaun Hill also had a night to forget as he completed 6 of 10 passes for 69 yards with 2 interceptions.  Thomas Clayton led the way for the Niners in the running game with 53 yards rushing on 8 carries (6.6 ypc).  Michael Robinson was also busy in this game with 12 carries for 39 yards (3.3 ypc).  WR Jason Hill was the leading receiver for the 49ers in this game with 4 grabs for 57 yards (14.3 avg).  The 49ers finished up with 90 yards rushing in this game on 23 carries (3.9 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 27 passes for 205 yards.

Takeo Spikes led the Niners in this game with 6 tackles.  The Chargers finished up with 113 yards rushing on 28 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 38 passes for 175 yards.  The 49ers finished the preseason with a 2-2 record.

The San Francisco 49ers dominated the Packers in all three facets of this game.  J.T. O’ Sullivan had a decent game for the 49ers as he completed 8 of 17 passes for 154 yards with 1 TD pass (59 yards to WR Josh Morgan) and 1 interception.  O’Sullivan also carried the football 2 times for 11 yards (5.5 ypc).  Alex Smith once again looked puzzled as he completed 5 of 12 passes for 62 yards.  Shaun Hill didn’t do much completing 2 of 5 passes for 21 yards against the Packers.  DeShaun Foster led the Niners in rushing with 37 yards on 11 carries (3.4 ypc) with a TD run.  Frank Gore pitched in with 29 yards rushing on 6 carries (4.8 ypc).  Thomas Clayton pitched in with 25 yards rushing on 11 carries (2.3 ypc) against the Packers.  Rookie WR Josh Morgan was outstanding Saturday Night for the 49ers as he caught 5 passes for 114 yards (22.8 avg) including a 59-yard TD reception from J.T. O’Sullivan.  2nd year WR Jason Hill also had a solid game with 2 receptions for 46 yards (23.0 avg) and he also carried the football 1 time for 14 yards.  WR Dominique Foxworth also had a solid game with 4 catches for 42 yards (10.5 avg).  The 49ers finished up with 118 yards rushing on 35 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 34 passes for 237 yards.

The defense was outstanding for the 49ers in this game as they sacked Packers’ QBs six times in this game.  Linebacker Tully Banta-Cain led the way for the Niners with 5 tackles and 2 sacks.  The Packers finished up with 101 yards rushing on 23 carries (4.4 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 31 passes for only 81 yards.

Allen Rossum also made a huge mark on special teams in this game for the Niners.  Rossum returned 6 punts for 86 yards (14.3 avg) including one that he returned 67-yards for a TD.  This was complete domination by the Niners who should bottle this play up and use it when the games count.

The Battle of the Bay did not go too good for the 49ers last night.  It appears that it might take some time for the Niners to adjust to offensive co-ordinator Mike Martz’ style of offense.  J.T. O’Sullivan started the game last night and he did not play well.  He completed 5 of 8 passes for 71 yards with a interception and a lost fumble.  Alex Smith appeared lost on the field as he completed 5 of 9 passes for 51 yards.  Shaun Hill completed 10 of 20 passes for 83 yards with a interception.  He also scrambled once for 13 yards.  Thomas Clayton led the 49ers in rushing with 27 yards on 5 carries (5.4 ypc) last night.  DeShaun Foster had a rough Niners’ debut as he carried the football 6 times for 13 yards (2.2 ypc).  Rookie WR Josh Morgan led the 49ers in receiving with 68 yards on 4 receptions (17.0 avg) in his NFL debut.  Dominique Zeigler also caught 4 passes for 45 yards (11.3 avg) but he lost a fumble.  The Niners finished up rushing for 70 yards on 19 carries (3.7 ypc).  They also completed 20 of 37 passes for 199 yards last night.  The Niners only had possession of the football for 25:28 last night and that won’t get the job done.  The QB job still appears wide open after last night as no one stepped up.

The 49ers got pushed around on defense as the Raiders ran all over them last night.  Linebacker Dontarrious Thomas led the 49ers last night with 8 tackles.  DE Jay Moore also had a solid game with 4 tackles and a sack.  The Raiders finished up rushing for 248 yards on 41 carries (6.0 ypc) last night and that’s flat out unacceptable.  The Raiders also completed 13 of 20 passes for 98 yards last night.
