Rookie linebacker Patrick Willis will wear a cast on his broken hand and keep rolling along for the Niners defense.  Willis is leading the NFL with 83 tackles so far this season and he also has 1 sack and a fumble recovery.  Willis is the leader on the defense as he’s playing at a Pro Bowl level. 

Left offensive tackle Jonas Jennings and right guard Justin Smiley will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.  The loss of Jennings will hurt as Alex Smith’s blindside will now be protected by Adam Snyder who has struggled so far this season when he’s gotten to play.  Right guard Justin Smiley has a separated shoulder and he will miss the rest of the season because he will require surgery to repair it.  He will likely be replaced by David Baas.  The 49ers offense has been horrible so far this season without having injuries on the offensive line.

The 49ers will likely be without starting QB Alex Smith for the next 4-6 weeks after he separated his throwing shoulder in last week’s game with the Seahawks.

The 49ers will be without starting tight end Vernon Davis for the next two weeks after he sprained his right knee against the Steelers last Sunday.

The 49ers have lost starting outside linebacker Manny Lawson for the remainder of the season after he tore his ACL in practice yesterday.
