San Francisco 49ers 20, Cincinnati Bengals 13
The San Francisco 49ers turned up the offense on Saturday Night to get a nice win. Shaun Hill started the first NFL game of his career against the Bengals and he completed 21 of 28 passes for 197 yards with a TD pass. He also carried the ball 5 times for 12 yards (2.4 ypc) with a TD run. Frank Gore was outstanding on the ground as he carried the ball 29 times for 138 yards (4.8 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 9 yards. Darrell Jackson had his best game of the season for the 49ers with 8 catches for 86 yards (10.8 avg). TE Vernon Davis also had a solid game with 5 catches for 46 yards (9.2 avg) with a TD grab. The 49ers finished up with 156 yards rushing on 37 carries (4.2 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 28 passes for 181 yards.
The Niners defense was led by Patrick Willis and safety Donald Strickland who each had 6 tackles apiece. The Bengals finished up with 61 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.2 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 31 passes for 251 yards.
