The 49ers woke up the Panthers who had not won at home in over a year until yesterday!  Trent Dilfer had a awful game as he completed 14 of 29 passes for 171 yards with 2 TD passes and 4 interceptions.  Frank Gore didn’t get the ball enough as he carried the ball 12 times for 58 yards (4.8 ypc) and he also caught 5 passes for 53 yards (10.6 avg).  Arnaz Battle also had one of his better games of the season as he caught 4 passes for 51 yards (12.8 avg) with a TD.  The 49ers only had possession of the football for 21:38 of the game and that helps explain the final score.  The Niners finished up with 59 yards rushing on 17 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 29 passes for 136 yards.

Patrick Willis led the Niners defense with another superhuman effort as he had 18 tackles.  Nate Clements also had a decent game as he pitched in with 8 tackles and a interceptions.  The Panthers finished up with 166 yards rushing on 44 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 26 passes for 157 yards.
