The 49ers offense has been much better than expected, due to the maturation of Alex Smith at QB.
I’ve been following the niners closely the past two seasons and as a CT. resident, have enjoyed the fact that two of our local college stars (Chris Hetherinton and Eric Johnson both of Yale) have been given the opportunity contribute. Hetherington has finally earned a starting role with a lot of hard work and paved the way for Frank Gore in the first two games to be amongst the league leaders in rushing yards. He has since been inactive to give a less qualified, (and lower payed)Moran Norristo take his spot.
The Niners have to be pleased with their offense so far this season.
Veteran CB Walt Harris has stepped up his play on the young 49er defense.
The 49ers quickly have been brought back to earth after winning last week.
The Chargers are a team with playoff aspirations, while the Niners are just trying to keep improving as a team.
The Niners are doing well on special teams for the most part, but they have problems covering kicks.
The 49ers looked very efficient on offense, but their defense still is having big problems.
